Dear Alumni and Friends,
As we enter the final term of the academic year there is a lot to celebrate, thanks to you. Through gifts of money and time, our community of supporters is helping to transform life at the University of York.
Our annual celebration for friends and supporters is fast-approaching, and the Vice-Chancellor and President very much hopes that you can join us at the Royal Institution in London on Tuesday 10 May, from 6pm to 9pm. This year’s event, entitled Technologies for the Future, will see the launch of the Science and Technology Network, our newest Network for graduates and friends. Professor Thomas Krauss, one of the University’s Research Champions, will give a keynote speech, and two of our promising doctoral candidates will speak briefly about their research.
Tickets to this event are free, but we would be delighted if, when registering, you would consider a donation to the University’s Achieving Excellence Bursaries to support students like Bethany Dimmock. These bursaries make a real difference to our brightest undergraduate students in the greatest financial need, enabling them to develop skills complementary to the academic and thus helping them to achieve their goals beyond their degree.
So thank you for your continued support – we look forward to another remarkable year of developing our giving community and working with people like you.
