The Wolfson Foundation has marked five years in support of Humanities at York by making another generous donation.
Funding for postgraduates in the arts and humanities is particularly scarce, so we are delighted that wonderful philanthropic partners such as the Wolfson Foundation are making such a significant difference in this area. Thanks to the Foundation’s support York has been able to attract and retain some of the UK’s most talented PhD students.
This September the University of York has welcomed five new Wolfson Scholars to campus. York has benefited hugely from the Wolfson Foundation’s commitment to the humanities since 2012/13. The Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities programme have enabled us to attract and welcome five cohorts of outstanding students to date. The Scholarships provide full funding for PhD students, covering their University fees and living costs. That amounts to 18 fully funded York PhDs over five years.
